KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Journalists from the United States and Britain have been kidnapped in the Gaza Strip, the BBC reported Wednesday.
The unidentified journalists were traveling in a car along a coastal road near Khan Younis when gunmen stopped the vehicle, forced the pair into another car and drove toward the Rafah refugee camp, sources told the BBC.

The translator with the journalists was left behind.
A spokesman for the Palestinian Interior ministry confirmed the kidnappings.
Palestinian authorities, who have tried to extend their control over the Gaza Strip since Israel's August withdrawal, said they were working to win the journalists' release.
