'Mafia princess' says mob killed JFK

CHICAGO, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- The daughter of late Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana claims in a forthcoming book her father ordered the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

The author of the 1984 best-selling memoir, "Mafia Princess," Antoinette Giancana, 70, worked with Dr. John Hughes, a neurologist, and Dr. Thomas Jobe, a psychiatrist on "JFK and Sam: The Connection between the Giancana and Kennedy Assassinations."

Due to be published this month by Cumberland House Printing, the 217-page book was primarily researched and written by Hughes, who told the Chicago Sun-Times Giancana was brought into the project because of her higher profile.

The book claims the mafia helped Kennedy carry Illinois in the close 1960 election, assuring his victory. In return, Kennedy was supposed to go easy on the mob, but instead, set U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy after them.

In 1975, Sam Giancana was gunned down in the basement kitchen of his Chicago-area home, which the book says was ordered by the CIA.
