Teen gets life for stabbing a father

LONDON, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- A 16-year-old convicted mugger has been sentenced for life in prison for killing a London father after the victim tried to protect his son from bullying.

Thirty-five-year-old Benjamin Durao tried to intervene among the teens bullying his son, but failed. Marcus Gabadan was convicted Friday of stabbing him to death with a Swiss army knife, reported the Daily Telegraph Saturday.

Gabadan had been ordered to attend anger management classes last summer after he was convicted of robbery. He denied he was guilty of murder.
