BEIJING, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- An international economic group predicts China will grow to become the biggest exporter in the world and third largest economy within five years.
The country is expected to surpass the United States as the world's largest exporter by the end of the decade.
The Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development commended China for its economic reforms in its first ever review of the country.
China, the seventh largest economy in the world, is expected to become the largest in the middle of this century, The Times of London reports.
The group expects China to keep up the 9.5 percent growth it has experienced over the past 20 years.
The OECD recommends more reforms for continued development, including an emphasis on spending money and regulating the private sector.
It also called on China to address its pollution problem. The OECD said China has five of the ten most polluted cities in the world.
