NEW YORK, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Anti-war mother Cindy Sheehan has signed with a speakers' bureau for a series of speaking appearances across the country.

Speaking Matters LLC has announced Sheehan will speak at colleges and universities and take part in other public programs.

Sheehan made headlines this summer when she camped out at President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, to press her demand for an explanation from the president for the death of her son, Casey, in Iraq. Her protest attracted hundreds of sympathizers from around the nation, as well as hundreds of counter-demonstrators.

As she was leaving Crawford Aug. 30, Sheehan told an estimated 1,500 supporters she believed her protest had been effective.

"I really believe Camp Casey will be written about in our history books and Camp Casey will be given credit for ending the illegal occupation," Sheehan said.
