Husseini accused the former Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein of having used chemical weapons against Iran during their 1980-1988 war.

Speaking at the opening of the third meeting of Asian countries that have signed the treaty of banning chemical weapons, Husseini said Iran is committed to the ban and has helped achieved that objective.

He also called for eliminating chemical weapons around the world.
