BEIRUT, Lebanon, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Two rockets were fired from Lebanese territory Thursday, one of which hit northern Israel, Lebanese security sources said.

Israel radio said a rocket coming from Lebanese territory fell on the Mirghilot kibbutz in northern Israel near the border with Lebanon. An Israeli military source said no casualties or material damage occurred.

The second rocket, a Katyusha, hit the entrance of the southern Lebanese village of Meiss Jabal without causing casualties or damage.

The source said Israel lodged a complaint against Lebanon with the United Nations, holding the Lebanese government responsible for the attack.

Soon after the incident, Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese airspace flying in circles over southern Lebanon.

The U.N. peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon, UNIFIL, said explosions occurred on both sides of the Blue Line separating Lebanon and Israel.
