Canada body-parts murder victim identified

EDINBURGH, Scotland, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- A Scottish man who killed his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend because he resented the victim's relationship with his baby son has been sentenced to life.
James Lovell must spend at least 15 years behind bars for stabbing Garry Marshall, The Scotsman reported.
Lovell, a resident of Leith near Edinburgh, pleaded guilty to murder.
"To arm yourself with a knife, invade the privacy of your former partner's home and proceed immediately to kill her present partner was an act of barbarity and savagery which is completely unacceptable and horrifying to decent people," the judge said as he imposed the sentence.
Marshall was stabbed as he lay in bed. He survived long enough to identify his attacker to police.
