ATLANTA, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Coretta Scott King was admitted to an Atlanta hospital Tuesday morning with an unspecified ailment.
Piedmont Hospital told WXIA in Atlanta that King was resting comfortably.
"I can confirm that Mrs. King did come to Piedmont Hospital earlier today. She is in fair condition. She's resting comfortably. She's undergoing observation," said spokeswoman Diana Lewis.
King, 78, the widow of the Rev. Martin Luther King, has devoted her life to the civil rights movement and to Atlanta's King Center since his 1968 assassination.
The hospitalization is King's second since April, when she spent a night being treated for atrial fibrillation.
King is expected to be in the hospital overnight, and the family plans to release additional information about her condition Wednesday morning.
