BAGHDAD, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Hundreds of Iraqi and Iranian Kurds Sunday protested Iranian policies they said mistreated Iranian Kurds.
About 500 protesters, including Iranian Kurdish party leaders, demonstrated in the northern Iraqi city of Suleimaniya against what they described as the "crimes of the Iranian regime against the Kurds of Iran."

They denounced the "repression, arrests and murder" of Kurds in neighboring Iran.
Organizers said the Kurdish security forces in northern Iraq shot bullets in the air to disperse the demonstrators after they attempted to reach the U.N. building in Suleimaniya.
