Qureia: Gaza pullout step to liberation

GAZA, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia said Israel's pullout from Gaza is a key step toward total liberation of Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem.

Speaking to thousands of Palestinians gathered outside parliament in Gaza to take part in the kick-off of a campaign in support of liberation, Qureia said "we are at the threshold of a great challenge as we move on a clear path toward the liberation of the West Bank and Jerusalem."

Addressing Israel, Qureia said, "Quit our land, leave us alone and we will know how to build our country ... Just leave without return."

Qureia also reiterated the Palestinian Authority's opposition to the creation of an independent Palestinian state within provisional and temporary boundaries.

"There will be no solution without the liberation of the land, return of the refugees and the creation of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital," Qureia said.
