TEL AVIV, Israel, July 28 (UPI) -- Israeli Attorney General Menachem Mazuz said he expects the investigation into Minister Tzachi Hanegbi's political appointments to lead to an indictment.

In an interview Thursday with Channel 2 TV, Mazuz said when he ordered the investigation he believed "there was a reasonable chance that the investigation would result in an indictment," or he would not have launched the investigation.

"And from what I've been told, and I am following the investigation closely, I believe he will be indicted," Mazuz said.

Ha'aretz reported Hanegbi is suspected of offering election bribes, breach of trust, and making political appointments in the Environment Ministry.
