Syria hands Saudi 12 wanted for crimes

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, July 26 (UPI) -- Syria handed Saudi Arabia 12 Saudi nationals wanted at home for various crimes, including terrorism, the Saudi interior ministry said.

A ministry source did not say if any of the repatriated criminals figured on Saudi Arabia's official list of 36 most wanted terror suspects.

The Syrian News Agency, SANA, said Monday that "the Syrian authorities started repatriating Muslim extremist detainees from several Arab nationalities." It said the first batch of 12 Saudi extremists was handed over to the Saudi authorities.
