Brazil site for AIDS conference

RIO DE JANEIRO, July 25 (UPI) -- An international AIDS conference opened in Brazil drawing doctors and scientists from all over the world to discuss the pandemic.

During the four days of talks, specialists were set to discuss the latest therapies and present more than 2,000 papers on AIDS/HIV prevention and treatment, O Globo reported Monday.

Brazil is one of the world's leaders in AIDS treatment and lauded worldwide for the efficacy of its safe-sex campaign. The country produces many of its own AIDS-related drugs and makes access to them available to everyone Brazilian with HIV or AIDS.
