The PCHR said an armed Palestinian wearing military garb broke into an apartment in central Rafah where four U.S. citizens live. The gunman kidnapped Harry Borrey, 75, ordered him into a civilian car where three masked and armed men waited and took him to an unknown destination. An hour later Palestinian policemen found him, unharmed, in a school.

It was not clear why Borrey was kidnapped, the PCHR said.

The organization said it was the second kidnapping incident in as many weeks.

On July 13 Voltaire Meterhammer, an Austrian citizen, and Michael Radicano, a Britisch citizen, were kidnapped and taken to the al-Bureij Refugee Camp. The kidnappers used them as hostages in their demand that the authorities release six people arrested on criminal charges. The two were finally released.
