Chicago-bound plane turned back to Paris

CHICAGO, July 9 (UPI) -- A plane bound from Paris to Chicago was forced to turn back when U.S. agents discovered it was carrying a passenger on the federal no-fly list.

Air France Flight 50 turned around about four hours after it left Charles de Gaulle Airport Friday, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Lara Uselding, a spokeswoman for the federal Transportation Security Administration, said that U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents found the name on the passenger manifest after the plane took off.

"They shouldn't have gotten a boarding pass,'' Uselding told the newspaper. "How that person got a boarding pass is up for the airline to answer.''

The flight left Paris again late Friday and arrived in Chicago Saturday.
