The new ministers hail from the Democratic Movement Party, an ally to Lula's Workers' Party, or PT.

The shuffle comes amid allegations that the PT paid brides to several lawmakers for their support in key congressional votes.

Two key PT leaders stepped down this week, with analysts expecting more to follow suit in coming days.
