4-year-old dies in locked car

AMELIA, Ohio, July 5 (UPI) -- A 4-year-old Ohio boy died from the heat after he apparently locked himself into his parents' car to play a video game.

WLWT-TV in Cincinnati reports that by the time Andy Jones' parents found him inside the Honda he had stopped breathing. The Amelia couple rushed their son to a nearby Baptist church to meet a medevac helicopter, but it was too late to save the child.

The air temperature outside the car was 89 degrees. Under those conditions, the temperature inside a closed car standing in the sun can climb to well over 100 degrees very quickly.
