VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 30 (UPI) -- Divers found no victims in the water around the scene of a grounded ferry that missed the dock in Vancouver, B.C., and plowed through boats Thursday.

The ferry operator, BC Ferries, said it would conduct a full investigation to determine why the 7,000 ton Queen of Oak Bay rammed the marina beside the Horseshoe Bay terminal, CBC News reported.

Witnesses said the vessel seemed to have lost power before slamming into Sewell's Marina. But David Hahn, President of BC Ferries, told a news conference it was premature to speculate on the cause of the crash.

"It's very clear that something went wrong, probably on the mechanical side," Hahn said, "but beyond that I can not speculate."

The ferry was reportedly carrying 544 passengers. CBC News said Canadian Coast Guard divers searched for two hours without finding any victims.
