LIVERPOOL, England, June 29 (UPI) -- A 19-year-old, straight-A school student in Britain admitted to killing his elderly parents and going on a spending spree with their credit cards.

Sydney Blackwell, 72, a retired accountant, and his 61-year-old wife, who was an antiques dealer, were found dead in their bungalow in the affluent village of Melling, the report said. Both had been beaten with a claw hammer and stabbed repeatedly with a kitchen knife.

Blackwell pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. The student, described as "exemplary" by his former teachers, suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder, a mental disorder that made him obsessed with fantasies of unlimited success, power and brilliance, the report said.

After the death of his parents, Blackwell reportedly went on holiday to the United States with his girlfriend and indulged in a nearly $60,000 spending spree.
