LONDON, June 27 (UPI) -- The late Princess Diana had a passionate affair with John F. Kennedy Jr., a new book alleges.
Diana and the son of the murdered U.S. president are said to have slept together at a New York hotel in "a moment of pure lust."
The claim is made by 49-year-old "energy healer" Simone Simmons in her book "Diana: The Last Word."
The healer claims the fling occurred in 1995 when Diana was staying at the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan. President Kennedy is said to have slept with Marilyn Monroe at the same hotel.
Simmons, who met the princess in 1993 and became a frequent visitor to Kensington Palace, says Diana told her: "We started talking, one thing led to another ... and we ended up in bed together. It was pure chemistry."
Friends of Diana dismissed the claims Sunday. The princess's former butler Paul Burrell told the Mirror newspaper: "Simone has concocted a fantastical story in much the same vein as the mystical rubbish she used to feed the princess. That Diana had an affair with JFK Jr. is simply untrue."
