U.S., Russia net child porn suspects

MOSCOW, June 15 (UPI) -- Russian police Wednesday were interrogating suspects in a child porn Internet group.

The suspects were arrested Tuesday in a joint operation carried out by the FBI and Russia's Interior Ministry in Russia. The suspects are believed to have distributed pornography on the Internet, including child porn, the Interfax news agency reported Tuesday.

U.S. nationals were among the group's customers, Interfax said.

The group filmed the pornography in the Russian city of Nizhniy Novgorod and sent it to Moscow, where the group's alleged leader, a 23-year-old Moscow resident, delivered it to the clients via the Internet, the Russian Interior Ministry said in a statement. Part of the production was delivered abroad, some of it to the United States.

The police arrested the group's leader and seized the child porn materials that they found at a Moscow office.

"Russian and U.S. law enforcement executives are continuing to work towards neutralizing all the participants of this video porn industry," the statement said.
