Wash. cyclist caught speeding at 170 mph

DUNNINGSVILLE, Wash., June 3 (UPI) -- Washington state police caught a 27-year-old motorcyclist riding 170 mph after an 8-mile chase.

Rico Lamar Porter was riding an aerodynamic motorcycle, capable of traveling at speeds above 200 mph, near Centerville on Interstate 70, the Washington Observer reported.

Porter was caught driving 120 mph by State Trooper Martin Gonglik near the Dunningsville exit off Interstate 70 Wednesday. After Gonglik turned on his police lights and siren, Porter increased his speed, weaving in and out of eastbound traffic for 8 miles before being overtaken by police when he lost control of his bike as he exited at Centerville.

He was slightly injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
