TEL AVIV, Israel, June 1 (UPI) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas have yet to decide on a site for their planned June 21 summit.

The Prime Minister's Office said the date was set in a meeting between Sharon's Special Adviser Dov Weissglas and Palestinian Chief Negotiator Saeb Erakat.

Sharon and Abbas have not met since the Feb. 8 summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

Sharon reportedly wants the meeting be held in Jerusalem while Abbas proposed Cairo.

Before the meeting can be held, senior officials will hold more talks on implementing the Sharm el-Sheikh understandings and on coordinating the Israeli pullback from the Gaza Strip and from settlements in the northern West Bank, the prime minister's office said.

The Sharm el-Sheikh understandings provide for a cessation of violence and a transfer of three more West Bank cities to Palestinian security control.
