Quake hits southwest Japan

TOKYO, May 31 (UPI) -- Japan's southwest Kyushu region was hit Tuesday by an earthquake, but there were no immediate reports of injury or damage.

The Japan Meteorological Agency put the magnitude at 5.7, the Kyodo news agency reported.
