Cinema blast suspects arrested

NEW DELHI, May 31 (UPI) -- Two members of a Sikh militant group were arrested in India for bombings at two New Delhi cinema halls that had shown a controversial movie.

Police said the suspects belong to the Babbar Khalsa group that has been seeking a separate Sikh state in India. Authorities said they recovered more than two pounds of a chemical used in the explosives, a gold and cash, the Press Trust of India reported.

Police said two others involved in the blasts that killed one person and injured more than 50 during the movie "Jo Bole So Nihal" were being sought.

Police said all four had planted the bombs fabricated in the toilets of the theaters.

Some Sikhs have protested the screening of the movie, which they claim presents their religion in poor light. About 3 percent of India's 1 billion residents are Sikhs.
