Aunt of missing children says 'hang on'

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho, May 22 (UPI) -- The aunt of two missing Idaho children has urged whoever abducted Dylan and Shasta Groene to turn themselves in and hope for compassion.

"I think that's the best thing that they could do -- turn themselves in and look for that compassion -- because they're not going to get it if we have to find them," Wendy Price, the sister of the children's father, told reporters Saturday.

The children were discovered missing after their mother, her boyfriend, and the children's brother were slain last Monday in their Idaho home, CNN reported.

"You hang in there, because we're going to find you. We're going to find you soon," Price said. "And just hold comfort in that, and we know that your brother is watching over you right now, and so is your mother. We don't feel any harm is going to come to you."

The victims had been bound and died of blunt force trauma to their head, although the time of death was unclear, according to Kootenai County Coroner Robert West.

CNN said a preliminary toxicology report indicated the presence of "illicit drugs" in the two adults, but not in the 13-year-old boy.
