JERUSALEM, May 16 (UPI) -- Three men have been arrested for allegedly planning to carry out an attack on Jerusalem's Temple Mount, Israeli police said.
The three were among nine Jewish suspects captured in two separate cases in alleged plots to attack the Temple Mount to sabotage the planned unilateral withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, police said Monday.
However, all suspects have been released from custody, with police not planning to press charges in the case -- because the case against them is weak, the Jerusalem Post reported Monday.
Israeli security officials have warned Jewish extremists might attempt to attack the sensitive Jerusalem holy site in an effort to sabotage the planned summer pullout from Gaza.
The three suspects planned to fire a missile at the Temple Mount and then kill themselves, police said.
