Kiwi girls much better at school than boys

WELLINGTON, New Zealand, May 12 (UPI) -- The New Zealand Qualifications Authority reports girls are better than boys in every school subject.

The research shows the gap between girls' and boy's performance is growing and students at girls-only schools have a pass rate far above the national average. Girls-only schools posted a pass rate of 66 percent compared with 49 percent for boys' schools. Only 40 percent of 13-year-old boys passed level three exams, compared with 49 percent of girls.
