Suspect sought in Denver police killing

DENVER, May 10 (UPI) -- Denver police Tuesday identified a suspect they say shot and killed one officer and wounded a second last weekend.

Raul Garcia-Gomez, 19, is wanted on murder charges in the slaying Sunday of Denver detective Donald Young, the Denver Post reported. Another detective, John Bishop, was wounded at a party where they were working off duty as security.

Garcia-Gomez was described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-six inches tall, 150 pounds with short, shaved dark brown hair, brown eyes, a thin mustache, full face and tattoos on his left arm.

Garcia-Gomez may be driving a four door, white 1995 Dodge Neon, with a temporary Colorado tag of 474-735C.

Police said Garcia-Gomez may be headed for Las Vegas or California, and is considered armed and dangerous.
