LIMA, May 8 (UPI) -- Forty people were killed when a bus fell almost 1,000 feet into a ravine in central Peru, injuring 16 others.
According to El Comercio newspaper, Friday's crash occurred on a narrow mountain road while the bus was en route to Lima.

The newspaper said the exact cause of the crash was still undetermined; however Peru's roads in that area are notoriously dangerous, particularly during the rainy season.
Last month another bus crashed in the same areakilling 23 people and injuring 16.
