SYDNEY, May 7 (UPI) -- Australian authorities were investigating a Saturday plane crash that left an estimated 15 people dead, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
Officials did not immediately determine if there are were any survivors in the crash of the aircraft, which was flying from the tip of the Cape York Peninsula to Lockhart River, in far northern Queensland.

Authorities, who located the burned wreckage around dawn, said they had confirmed there were two crew members and 13 passengers on board the plane.
