Two U.S. fighters missing over Iraq

WASHINGTON, May 2 (UPI) -- Two U.S. Marine Corps fighter jets flying off the USS Carl Vinson were listed as missing late Monday, the U.S. Central Command announced.

The ship lost contact with the two F/A-18 Hornets, which were flying in support of the ongoing war in Iraq.

There was no immediate indication of hostile fire when the ship lost contact with the aircraft. Search efforts were currently underway.
