SAN JOSE, Calif., April 30 (UPI) -- The cash reward for information regarding the poisoning death of a San Jose, Calif., dog has more than doubled, the Bay City News reported Saturday.
Holly Kollenborn said Jackson, her 4-year-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel, died after eating meat laced with anti-freeze outside of her residence. She initially offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the dog killer's arrest, but a number of donors have come forward, raising the reward to $2,700.
Kollenborn said she expects the reward to continue to grow as more donors contact her.
"Several people have called in and wanted to donate and I haven't been able to get back to them yet," Kollenborn said.
San Jose police are asking anyone with information about the case to call Detective Troy Sirmons at (408) 277-4161.
