S. Korea, N. Korea agree talks are needed

JAKARTA, April 23 (UPI) -- South Korean Prime Minister Lee Hae Chan and North Korean official Kim Yong Nam agreed Saturday in Jakarta that talks are needed.

The meeting, at a summit of Asian and African leaders in Jakarta, marked the highest-level contact between the two Korean states since June 2000, when then South Korean President Kim Dae Jung held the first-ever summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Il in the North's capital, Pyongyang, Kyodo News reported.
