Fast-food worker guilty in Arby's killings

MILWAUKEE, April 22 (UPI) -- A Wiisconsin jury rejected the alibi of a fired fast-food worker and convicted the 23-year-old man of murder in the killings for two former Arby's co-workers.

James C. Walker was found guilty of two counts of felony homicide Thursday in a verdict that took about 15 minutes. Walker faces life imprisonment when he is sentenced June 20.

The jury rejected testimony from Walker's sister who said he was watching a movie at her home at the time of the robbery at the West Milwaukee restaurant the night of Oct. 24, 2004.

Police found cash from the robbery in Walker's possession. He reportedly used part of the loot to pay for car repairs.

Michael Reit, Walker's co-defendant, testified Walker planned the robbery two days after he was fired from his job at Arby's, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said.

Reit pleaded guilty to two counts of murder in March and is awaiting sentencing.
