PARMA, Ohio, April 20 (UPI) -- Three dogs attacked an elderly Cleveland-area man who was gardening, leaving the man with an inability to speak or move one side of his body.
A Cane Corso, an American bulldog and a pit bull, whose combined weight is nearly 300 pounds, Tuesday attacked an 82-year-old man who could could spend another week in the facility, WEWS-TV, Cleveland, reported Wednesday.
Ernie Assad, who was watering his garden when attacked, reportedly has lost his speech and movement on one side of his body.
The American bulldog and a pit bull are owned by Darnell Sanders, a Chicago Bears tight end who used to play for the Cleveland Browns.
The owners of the dogs could face criminal charges. Animal control officials are deciding whether the dogs should be permanently confiscated.
