Abbas: talks on pullout next week

GAZA, April 19 (UPI) -- Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah Tuesday said stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace talks would resume next week.

Abbas, fresh off a visit to Jordan and Egypt, told reporters the talks would focus on coordinating the implementation of the Israeli unilateral disengagement plan with the Palestinians.

"We are ready for all types of coordination and we spoke with them (Israelis) and the meetings on this issue (the evacuation and pullout from Gaza and northern West Bank) would begin sometime next week," Abbas said.

The talks "would tackle every single issue," he said.
