Iran complains of EU-U.S. coordination

TEHRAN, April 16 (UPI) -- Iran is complaining about the way Europe is coordinating with the United States in negotiations with Tehran over the Islamic republic's nuclear ambitions.

"Iran is in no way going to pay for coordination Europe is making with other countries," Sirous Nasseri, head of Iran's nuclear negotiation team with Europe, was quoted as saying.

Iran's official Islamic Republic News Agency quoted Nasseri as saying while his country did not oppose all kinds of coordination, its partner in the nuclear negotiations is the European Union -- not the United States.

He told IRNA there is "no need for America to join the negotiations. It is not useful."
