Poll: Almost half in U.S. creationist
LOS ANGELES, March 28 (UPI) -- Eric Wright, a starting cornerback on the USC football team, was charged Monday in Los Angeles with rape.
USC football Coach Pete Carroll told the Los Angeles Times he "felt terrible" for the alleged victim. "We don't know any of the details of the situation, but it's just disappointing to think that these things have to come up even to be considered," Carroll said.
"We're aware of the situation and everyone is cooperating fully," said Athletic Department spokesman Tim Tessalone.
Wright, 19, was arrested early Saturday and freed on $100,000 bail Monday. His initial court appearance is scheduled for April 20.
