GAZA, March 17 (UPI) -- A senior Palestinian security official announced Thursday the Palestinian Authority is ready to take control of Gaza and West Bank Jewish settlements.
Chief of preventive security Brig. Gen. Rashid Abu Shback said in a statement PA security services had finalized a plan to take over settlements after Israel evacuates.

Abu Shback said he went Egypt recently to coordinate with high-ranking Egyptian security officials, adding he agreed on a Gaza plan with Egyptian intelligence chief Omer Suleiman.
Israel and Egypt also have worked out a plan to deploy Egyptian troops along the border between Gaza and Egypt to prevent arms smuggling.
