LONDON, March 15 (UPI) -- A female Sikh in the British Army claims she was subjected to persistent racial discrimination in her 21-year career, The Times of London reported Tuesday.
Warrant Officer Jinder Moore, 39, told an employment tribunal she suffered a "catalog of victimization, discrimination, harassment and abuse" by senior officers to such a degree she had to be put on medication.
She also a testified she was told by a colonel she should "stick to her own kind" after he heard rumors she was dating a white major, whom she later married. The colonel also allegedly told her she had not "learned her lesson," a reference to her previous marriage to a white man.
She said on returning to work from maternity leave to a more menial job, she was "emotionally and mentally drained.
"I constantly worried what more might be done to me or my family and I started suffering from panic attacks."
All four officers named in the complaint denied the allegations at the hearing, which continued Tuesday.
