Libya denies Israel contacts

TRIPOLI, Libya, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Libya denied Monday Israeli press reports its intelligence chief, Gen. Mousa Kousa, visited Israel last week.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassouna Shawesh told reporters in Tripoli the reports are the "work of imagination."

An Israeli Web site reported Kousa made a secret visit to Israel last week during which he met Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

Shawesh denied such a meeting took place.
