Canada body-parts murder victim identified
TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 25 (UPI) -- A Florida judge Friday said the feeding tube keeping Terri Schiavo alive can be removed March 18, WTSP-TV, Tampa Bay, reported.
Schiavo's husband, Michael, has been fighting his wife's parents and state officials to have the feeding tube removed, saying that is what his brain-damaged wife would have wanted.
Pinellas Circuit Court Judge George Greer issued a stay Wednesday, prohibiting the removal of the tube. The stay was due to expire at 5 p.m. Friday, the 15th anniversary of Schiavo's collapse from a chemical imbalance.
Greer Friday extended the stay for three weeks, then said Michael Schiavo would be free to act as his wife's guardian.
Doctors have repeatedly testified since the court battles begin that Schiavo, 41, is in a persistent vegetative state.
