GAZA, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Israeli soldiers reportedly shot and injured two Palestinian men Sunday who were part of a group trying to smuggle weapons into Gaza.
One man, in critical condition, was reportedly shot in his head and back when he approached the Rafah border crossing and the other man was hospitalized in stable condition.
Israeli security sources said the army opened fire at a group of Palestinians who were nearing an off-limits area in Rafah. Palestinian sources said the men were members of a group trying to smuggle weapons from Egypt into Gaza.
In another incident, Palestinian medical sources in Khan Younes in the southern Gaza Strip said a 16-year-old boy was wounded when Israeli soldiers fired at a group of youths playing in the ruins of homes previously demolished by Israeli forces.
