Japan, U.S. talk about troops in Okinawa

WASHINGTON, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Top Japanese officials were in Washington Saturday to discuss ways of cutting the U.S. troop presence in Okinawa and other Japanese communities.

Besides talking about troop redeployments, officials are expected to discuss anti-terror measures and North Korea's nuclear ambitions, the Kyodo news service reported Saturday.

The two nations have expressed concerns about possible cross-strait clashes between China and Taiwan.
