Prince Charles, Camilla go to church

LONDON, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Britain's Prince Charles and wife-to-be Camilla Parker Bowles went to church Sunday near Charles' private residence, Highgrove, the BBC reported.

The couple, who will wed in a civil ceremony April 8, joined just 34 people at St. Leonard's Church to hear Rev. Christopher Mulholland give a sermon on the devil's efforts to tempt Christ.

"I prayed for their happiness together and that they may come to love one another more each day and more and more draw closer to God," Mulholland said after the service. "People are very glad when two of the congregation have decided to get married. There was a great sense of goodwill."

The church is among several near Highgrove that Prince Charles regularly attends.

"We feel they're our people," said Gillian Bulmer-Davison, an area resident who joined the service. "It's good to see them so happy. It was a very friendly service."
