Transvestite pleads guilty in killing

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- A Nevada transvestite faces a possible life term for a killing one official described as "the most horrific" such attack he had ever seen.

Michael Paul Fierro, 18, pleaded guilty Thursday to beating and stabbing to death Enrique Martinez-Salas last June, the Las Vegas Journal-Review said Friday.

Fierro was dressed as a woman the night of June 20 when the two met and went to a residence where, according to Fierro, Martinez-Salas promised to pay him for sex. After they had sex, the victim refused to make good on his promise and fell asleep.

Enraged, Fierro repeatedly bashed the victim's head with a toilet tank cover and stabbed him multiple times in the eyes and ears.

"It took the coroner four single-spaced pages just to list the blunt force trauma," prosecutor Ed Kane said. "It took another two single-spaced pages just to list the stab wounds. They were among the most horrific injuries I've ever seen."

Fierro, who pleaded guilty, faces 40 years to life in prison when he is sentenced March 24.
