MURGON, Australia, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- A convicted pedophile, who rented a house within a block of a daycare center, is being run out of Murgon, Australia.
Dennis Ferguson is making plans to move after demonstrators picketed his house, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported Tuesday.
"The landlord wanted him out of his premises and there was a group gathering on the footpath outside," said Murgon Mayer Warren Hubner, who added Ferguson was not welcome in the small Queensland town.
"Police escorted him out of those premises and he's at the police station at the present time and I believe the gentlemen is now making arrangements for accommodation outside of our region," the mayor said
Hubner said it was totally inappropriate for Ferguson to live so close to a daycare center.
