GAZA, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Islamic Hamas and Jihad leaders Thursday called Israel's easing of security measures in the Palestinian territories "a trick."
A leading figure in the Jihad movement, Khader Habib told reporters in Gaza City: "Announcing that security measures to be eased and nothing happens on the ground is a trick. Israel ... must present more obligations such as withdrawals and release of prisoners."
Habib added the Palestinians would not make concessions in order to make the cease-fire successful.
Meanwhile, the Hamas movement said Israeli talk of easing its security measures "are only words and didn't achieve anything on earth."
Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri cited as proof Wednesday's killing of a 3-year-old girl by Israeli troops and ongoing arrests in the West Bank.
Abu Zuhri said, "Declaring a truce and cease-fire by the Palestinian factions needs the complete obligation of Israel."
